Whitney Carlson


Ms. Carlson is a litigation associate in Murphy Pearson Bradley & Feeney's San Francisco office. Her practice focuses on commercial litigation, business litigation, intellectual property, and white collar and regulatory defense matters. She has experience with trade secret, product liability, and breach of contract cases.

Ms. Carlson received her B.A. in French and Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and her J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School. While in law school, Ms. Carlson was selected for Colorado Law's inaugural Tech Lawyer Accelerator program and she spent seven months working as a legal extern at Cisco Systems, Inc., in San Jose, California.


  • Member of three-attorney trial team that obtained total defense victory in binding arbitration breach of contract dispute.
  • Worked as a student attorney in the Colorado Law Criminal Immigration Defense Clinic while attending law school at the University of Colorado in Boulder.

Representative Matters

  • State Bar of California v. Attorney. Represented the defendant Attorney in charges brought by the State Bar of California. The State Bar of California filed a Notice of Disciplinary Charges consisting of two counts against the Attorney. After a three-day trial, both charges were dismissed and the defendant Attorney was awarded her costs.

Professional and Community Contributions

Ms. Carlson is a member of the San Francisco Bar Association (BASF). She also volunteers with the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank.

Awards and Honors

  • While working as a Practice Attorney at Winston & Strawn LLP, Ms. Carlson received a firm-wide pro bono award for her contributions to the successful resolution of an asylum matter in 2016.
