Michael J. Choi

Associate

Mr. Choi is a litigation associate at the San Francisco office of Murphy, Pearson, Bradley & Feeney. He represents individuals and businesses in all phases of civil litigation. Mr. Choi counsels clients in a variety of matters related to business, professional liability, and insurance defense. He reveres the relationship of trust with clients, and takes professional pride in taking deliberate and assiduous action to advance clients' interests.

When not practicing law, Mr. Choi enjoys rock climbing and running Spartan Races. An avid musician, he was previously the musical director of UC Berkeley's Artists in Resonance.

Highlights

  • As an extern at a German law firm, Mr. Choi helped draft a EUIPO observation reply that successfully blocked a large pharmaceutical company's trademark registration.
  • Through the USF Internet & Intellectual Property Justice Clinic, Mr. Choi obtained a trademark registration for a creative agency's multimedia project highlighting homelessness in San Francisco.

Professional and Community Contributions

Mr. Choi currently serves as an attorney board member for the Korean American Bar Association of Northern California (KABANC), where he also volunteers on the Gala and Mentorship Committees. He is an active member of the Asian American Bar Association (AABA) and is currently involved with AABA's Social Committee. Mr. Choi is also a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF).

Mr. Choi frequently volunteers for the Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach (APILO) monthly pro bono clinic. He has assisted clients applying for citizenship and translated I-90 forms for Korean clients to renew their green cards.
