Christopher (Cru) Ulrich

Senior Counsel

Mr. Ulrich is Senior Counsel with Murphy Pearson Bradley & Feeney in the San Francisco office. His current practice focuses on general business litigation, professional liability, legal malpractice, and white collar defense.

Most recently, Mr. Ulrich was an Assistant District Attorney with the San Francisco District Attorney's office, in their Gang Violence Unit. He prosecuted gang members for crimes ranging from attempted murder with a firearm to property crimes.

Prior to the Gang Violence Unit, Mr. Ulrich worked with the General Felonies, Preliminary Hearings, Domestic Violence, Writs and Appeals, and Misdemeanors units.

Mr. Ulrich is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

When not at the office, he enjoys listening to podcasts on national and world events, traveling, and non-fiction books. In early 2019, Mr. Ulrich spent ten weeks traveling abroad in Mexico City and other parts of the country.


  • Mr. Ulrich has tried in excess of thirty jury trials to verdict. Included in those cases is a successful murder prosecution where the defendant pled not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity. He gained expertise in presenting cutting edge scientific and otherwise complex evidence in court. He has advanced experience in direct and cross-examination of expert witnesses.
  • While with the Gang Violence Unit, Mr. Ulrich won guilty verdicts in four serious and/or violent felony trials including a murder where the defendant claimed not guilty by reason of insanity; attempted murder with a firearm; assault with a deadly weapon; and robbery with a firearm.
