Summary Judgment Insurance Broker

Harlan Watkins and Arthur Harris obtained summary judgment for Pasadena insurance broker Chapman & Associates in Associated Electric & Gas Services Limited (AEGIS) v. Chapman & Associates, et. al., Alameda County Superior Court case no. RG06-301459. Plaintiff claimed that Chapman & Associates failed to obtain valid additional insured endorsements for the City of Alameda and the Alameda Reuse and Redevelopment Agency which would have covered these two entities for a claim made by a worker who suffered a catastrophic electrocution injury on City property. Mr. Watkins and Mr. Harris successfully argued that the alleged negligence did not cause any damage to either AEGIS or the City and that AEGIS was not entitled to pursue a subrogation cause of action against Chapman & Associates.
